The approach is educational, skilltraining model designed to improve satisfaction and stability in the couple and other types of relationships. Couples learn how to be more accepting and nonjudgmental of each other; to improve ownership and regulation of their emotional expression; to become more empathic and skillful in conveying empathy and understanding to each other; and to strengthen the emotional engagement (attachment) in their relationship. Other relational issues: Through discussions, individuals gain an insight into the situations and circumstances that have been disabling them from building successful relationships w/ others. 3-8 people required to start a group.
