PEERS® is a 10-week, evidence-based social skills group for teens 11-17 who have difficulty initiating & maintaining friendships. Teens learn social skills through didactic instruction, live demonstrations, and participate in extensive practice all while receiving real-time, individualized coaching. Parents attend weekly group sessions while teens engage in their own group. Parents will learn how to assist teens by providing feedback & coaching for socialization assignments. Teen topics include: appropriate conversational skills, appropriate humor, electronic communication, entering & exiting conversations, being a good host, good sportsmanship, handling arguments & disagreements, changing bad reputations, handling rumors & gossip, and handling rejection, teasing, & bullying.
