This group provides fathers, new and old, a safe place to discuss the emotional, marital, social and financial impact of being a parent. Today more than ever men struggle with what it means to be a good enough father. The transition to becoming a threesome, changes in intimacy and sex with ones partner, roles, choices and balancing home and work, and feelings of how one was parented are some of the topics that may be addressed.
If you are feeling bad about yourself and aspects of your life, therapy can help improve your self-esteem, mood, and the quality of your life. I work with adults and adolescents who are struggling with a wide range of issues. Some are confused and unhappy about their relationships or troubled by their performance at work or school. Others come into therapy because of a crisis in their lives, such as illness, divorce, or the loss of a loved one. I also see people who are having trouble adjusting to a life transition, like going away to college or becoming a parent. Still others are bothered by events from the past. Whatever the issue, feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed and/or angry are common.
The Bringing Baby Home program helps couples prepare for an addition to their family. It increases the joy of parenting and gives new parents the tools they need to be the best parenting team possible. The program provides the opportunity to plan ahead, so that parents can keep their friendship strong and develop strategies for parenting intentionally. This workshop helps parents to be mindful to respond to the needs of our partners and our babies, so that each person in the family feels known, loved, and respected. Call or email Tabitha Gonzalez for more information!

"I believe that compassion for oneself is the key to feeling better. When we can stop idealizing and stop trying to be what we're not, we can learn to have compassion and acceptance of who we really are. Accepting our human condition with its limitations, leads to self-knowledge, which leads to growth and ultimately to comfort within ourselves.

I am a psychotherapist who has been in private practice in for over 20 years. My professional experiences have given me a deep appreciation for our innate capacity to not only survive, but to transform difficult life events in ways that foster understanding, healing, and personal growth. For some, psychotherapy can provide a safe and nurturing environment in which to learn healthy coping strategies to better deal with the stressors of daily living. For others, it can provide a unique opportunity to work on a deeper level to address core issues related to family of origin, trauma, sexuality, and addiction.

If you’ve found me, you know how difficult it can be to seek answers in the areas of understanding the differences in communication, ways of learning, and social preferences for both neurodiverse children and their parents. You are most likely exhausted and eager to learn more about science-based resources to help your child succeed, as you haven’t been afforded effective parent management techniques or learned about the neurobiology of attachment. Developing co-regulation techniques is essential for calming the nervous system. These techniques guide families and improve family function. EMDR available for children - NY, FL, VT, SC

Fibromyalgia and other Chronic Pain conditions can be painful, confusing, frustrating, and isolating. The “unknown” nature of chronic pain makes it difficult for loved ones and doctors to fully understand your experience. Join Talia Shiovitz, LCSW, a social worker living with Fibromyalgia, to develop coping skills for pain and connect with a community of people who understand your experience. Although there is increasing research regarding the many impacts of chronic pain, which may include, but is not limited to, depression, anxiety, fatigue, sleep challenges, and headaches, it can be healing to share your experiences with others who are going through the similar challenges.

We know the benefits of a regular meditation practice are many, yet sitting with ourselves in its simplicity and solitude is astonishingly difficult. In subtle (and not so subtle) ways, we struggle with what is, by avoiding or fighting against what is happening inside ourselves. This workshop will be a support for establishing, reestablishing, or going deeper into a regular practice by holding the context of being with what arises in our bodies and in our minds as we sit with ourselves.
