The group teaches teens and their parent(s) the following DBT skill modules: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and walking the middle path. It has a class-like format with handouts, take-home exercises, and experiential activities, but there is no expectation that group members share information that is uncomfortable. Research has shown that caregivers' involvement makes treatment more effective because caregivers learn to serve as coaches for their children and benefit from learning the skills themselves. Teens must have an individual DBT therapist at the Center for CBT or be a program-approved outside DBT provider.
I am a licensed psychologist and DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician(tm) at the Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy with expertise in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and trauma. I have extensive experience providing evidence-based treatments to children, adolescents, and adults with trauma, depression, anxiety, and disruptive behavior, as well as complex psychosocial stressors. I am devoted to providing exceptional treatment to children, adolescents, and families, empowering them with tools to enhance their relationships and navigate life’s challenges effectively.
This 13-week group program is designed to help teens build self-control over impulsive behaviors, improve peer relationships, manage moods, improve overall self-image, move away from all-or-nothing thinking, and achieve a better quality of life! We cover DBT's four modules: emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. Our collaborative, non-judgmental environment helps participants feel understood and supported, fostering a sense of belonging and connection. IN NETWORK with Cigna and Aetna. Out of pocket sliding scale $30/session. Accepting new clients for November start! Please reach out to me if you have any questions!

I view counseling as an opportunity to come alongside my clients and partner with them as they journey toward discovering a life of meaning and purpose. Through empathy, humor, and warmth, I aim to create and hold a safe space for my clients to begin the journey inward. My biggest joy is walking alongside my clients as they begin to realize their strength and resilience to find solutions to the issues they are facing.
This is a very small, co-ed group which will meet every other week for one hour in my office. We address issues which are important to young adults - issues which they bring and share in the group. Strict confidentiality is observed! Day and time to be decided.

Families evolve and change over time. As individuals age and grow, their roles within the family also change. The family can help - or hinder - individual and personal growth. Family work can help to make the family a positive source of support. Family work will help you to step back and observe emotional patterns and processes. There definitely can be family change with only one person in the room working with a therapist. In physics there is an adage: for every action there is a reaction.
Our human relations training is designed to provide an educational experience through small group interaction in the area of personal growth and development. The objectives is to gain a better understanding of how we interact and communicate with others; and to learn the necessary communication skills that foster positive interpersonal relationships and personal growth.

My goal is to create a nonjudgmental, brave space where clients feel safe to process and find compassion for the unhealed parts of themselves. I respect that your journey with change over time and our sessions will always accommodate that.
"I view Psychotherapy as a commitment to your life, relationships, future, and self. Too often life becomes over-whelming, even unbearable. You do not need to struggle alone. I believe in creating a warm, welcoming environment to explore past and present behaviors and thought patterns which are influencing you today. Life is very much like driving a car. We can't only focus on the destination, and we can't stare into the rearview mirror. Either of these actions would cause an accident, and most certainly distract us from our main goal - keeping our eyes on the road! In my practice, I take on the GPS role. The driver and the GPS are a team. The relationship between the client and the therapist is powerful one, involving trust and collaboration. I use a trauma- informed approach and have over 20 years of experience in various therapeutic settings. I provide parent coaching and have also worked in school settings for almost a decade.
