Dream Group meets to discuss dreams presented by participants. Group members possess interest in working with dreams and experience with Jungian studies.Three or four dreams are presented in each session followed by comments on associations of others, in the style of non-judgmental amplification. Discussion of impersonal symbolic associations are added. I make references to the thought of Jung and explain relevant passages in the writings of C. G. Jung. The group remains fixed and includes no more than seven individuals.

I do analytic work in accord with training of the C. G. Jung Institut, Zurich. There is special attention to dreams, creativity, and attention to the unconscious. Depth psychology takes time, and people work diligently. In the process the whole personality is engaged. Jungian psychology is forward looking and may elucidate the way through difficult transition. I work for a reduced fee, in lieu of insurance payment. This is an opportunity to do Jungian Analysis at an affordable cost. I appreciate work with individuals that have done therapy, gained psychological understanding, and would like to go futher into depth psychology.

I offer an integrative approach to therapy that implements various treatment modalities, psychoeducation, and general nutrition and physical activity. I believe in working collaboratively so that together we can reach a deeper level of understanding, consider new perspectives, behaviors, and feelings towards challenging life situations.
The groups will clarify the relationship between body and brain and offer poses to reduce symptoms. Ultimately, the goal is to demystify how and why yoga works and build skills to allow for greater empowerment in navigating tough emotional challenges.

Understanding the self is the first step toward change. Through compassion, reflection and skill development one has the opportunity to remove obstacles in the form of beliefs, mobilize one's inner resources, reduce suffering and create a more meaningful life. I have worked with adults who have survived trauma/abuse, struggled with problems in mood and thought and experienced self-worth injuries.
This group will focus on becoming aware of your unconscious self defeating patterns and its impact on current relationships. You will learn how to avoid these pitfalls through awareness of self , family and ancestral history. Small group up to 6 participants will meet weekly for 8 weeks online.

A deep connection between therapist and client is key to forming the trust necessary to overcome challenges in one's life. These blocks keep us from realizing our potential and can manifest in a variety of ways, from depression and anxiety, to relationship issues and job dissatisfaction. My approach to therapy is to use self understanding and awareness as a mechanism for change. Treatments could include psychoanalytic and psychodynamic techniques to access unconscious material or a more problem focused, short term approach depending on the issues at hand. I also work with Trauma using EMDR.
In this six-week group you will learn to be a more present mom, partner and friend. We will explore your inner resources and learn to become self-healers. You will learn to access self-soothing skills and feel calmness and connectivity. In this process, you will find clarity in your actions and learn to change unhealthy patterns. This work is based on the popular Internal Family Systems model (IFS).

Feeling stuck, confused, or frustrated with your relationships? How we relate to others at work, school, or in our personal lives, comes with a lot of unwritten rules. I help my clients uncover those unwritten rules and empower them to recognize how they can help build a healthy system that works best for everyone. This can be especially challenging for clients with trauma, brain injuries, ADHD, Autism, anxiety, or OCD. My passion is helping neurodivergent clients express themselves authentically and improve their social lives.

I provide confidential, professional therapy for a variety of issues and concerns, from resolving depression or anxiety to healing past trauma, improving relationships to ending addiction. Therapy with me is about no longer managing or coping, but instead getting to the source of your issues and discovering what helps you heal. Whether this is your first time considering therapy or you're feeling ready to return, I help people from all walks of life find solutions and feel better.
These four hour workshops are limited to 2 couples and led by Rebecca and her husband Terry. During the first half we work through a communication handout designed to guide you in consciously managing conflict while staying connected to one another and curious about underlying triggers for you and your partner. The second half each couple works individually with one facilitator and their partner in private to practice an experiential active listening exercise about something that needs to be communicated and heard. These workshops happen about once a month or when two couples register. These Workshops tend to go deep.

My typical client is seen as a strong woman. She can do all things and she takes care of everyone in her life. She rarely (if ever) asks for help, but is the first call when others need help. She is smart, hardworking, and exceptional. She is also exhausted, sad and lonely. She feels lost, broken and increasingly resentful of those she loves which makes her feel guilty. Sometimes she has thoughts of escaping her life. Sometimes those thoughts are dark which scares her. If this sounds like you, you don't have to keep taking on everyone else's problems while you struggle in silence. I can help.

Please visit therapyredeemed.wordpress.com/about/ for more info & resources! Have you ever wondered about your adoption story? Has there ever been doubt, fear, anger, pain or confusion when it comes up? What’s it been like for you to process your personal experience of birth family, loss, grief, race, identity, or even those seemingly benign curiosities about your narrative that come up from time to time? For parents, of course you want to help your children as they embark on that path. This can often feel uncertain or overwhelming, with so many subtle nuances that feel way too complicated to handle without appropriate support.

Kathleen is passionate about the value of preparation and support for life’s transitions. Her experience is that we are able to manage our life transitions best when we approach them thoughtfully and in a context of mutual support. Her intention is to bring together folks who are contemplating this next stage of their lives, and create an opportunity for learning together, sharing hopes/fears/wisdoms, and feeling (and being) more supported and resourced. Hello! What is bringing you to therapy? For many, it's feeling lost, confused, hurt and disconnected from ourselves and the world around us. We can come to feel lost and disconnected because of trauma or stress (either in this lifetime or in your lineage) that hasn’t been digested in our body/mind. It can happen from living in an increasingly lonely and disconnected world. I would like to support you in finding connection and meaning in life so you can experience satisfying relationships with yourself, friends, family and the natural world around you. This is what being alive is about!

FAQs - About Group Therapy and Support Groups
How can I find a support group in Minneapolis?
Search for nearby support groups by inputting your city, zip code, or the name of the group into the search bar. From there, you can filter to find a group that suits your needs, whether you are looking for support for a teenager, a group that focuses on a specific issue, such as depression, or a particular program type, such as one geared toward developing social skills. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.
How does group therapy work?
Therapy groups are led by one or more therapists and serve to help people process their experiences and learn from others who understand their challenges firsthand. They can be based on a specific issue, such as addiction, grief, physical illnesses, parenting, and caregiving. They can involve a specific type of program or therapy, such as a social skills group or CBT group. They can also be specific to a particular population or community, such as teens or LGBTQ.
Support groups, like Alcoholics Anonymous, also focus on a specific issue, but are typically led by members with lived experiences and are less structured than therapy groups. Most therapy groups will meet for a fixed length of time with a consistent group of members, while many support groups meet for an indefinite period of time with members coming and going.
What are the benefits of group therapy?
Support groups help connect people with shared challenges or physical and mental health conditions. In a group setting, participants can receive support and feedback from peers and can acquire new skills, strategies and perspectives by listening to one another. Discussing your experience with someone who also has a cancer diagnosis, or whose son also struggles with addiction, for example, can help you feel less alone, reduce distress, find empathy and connection, and learn practical or medical information that has helped others. Group therapy can also be a more affordable option than individual therapy and just as effective.
Is group therapy as effective as individual therapy?
Support groups can be deeply valuable for both emotional support and/or treatment outcomes. It’s difficult to make a blanket statement on efficacy due to the many different types of support groups and conditions treated, but group therapy has been found to be just as effective as individual therapy in establishing long-term abstinence for conditions such as substance abuse, addiction and alcohol abuse.
How much does group therapy cost?
Group counseling is typically less expensive than individual counseling, with each session costing on average between $60 to $75. Meanwhile, individual therapy sessions can run anywhere from $100 to $200 and up, even after insurance. It is possible to find low-cost group therapy options and many therapists offer group sessions free of charge.
Does insurance cover group therapy?
As with individual therapy, many insurance companies do offer coverage for group therapy sessions. However, the coverage varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider. Individuals are encouraged to check with their insurance providers to verify coverage.
How long does group therapy last?
The length of a support group session is often one hour but can fall anywhere between 45 minutes and two hours. The amount of time that people remain in a support group varies based on their specific needs and goals and the type of therapy. Some individuals may seek a shorter-term group, such as a bereavement group, that may last between six and 20 weeks. Some may seek a longer-term group that lasts for a year or indefinitely.
What are the limitations of support groups?
Support groups have many benefits, but there are a few limitations as well. Support groups do not constitute formal therapeutic or medical treatment, and are not run by licensed mental health professionals, so some people may opt for group therapy or individual therapy instead. Additionally, support groups can depend on the other participants, so a disruptive individual has the potential to mar the group dynamic, and the anecdotal information shared may sometimes be unhelpful or inaccurate. Because it is a group setting, confidentiality can be more difficult to guard and participants receive less personalized attention than they would in an individual therapy session.
