I believe having an emphasis on collaboration and creating a nonjudgmental space is essential for fostering trust and facilitating meaningful therapeutic work. I believe in treating the whole individual and not just the “symptoms”. My approach to treatment is a person-centered approach, meaning allowing clients to voice the areas they wish to work on in therapy. I am currently offering a virtual DBT skills training group and I have openings for new members.

This is a low-cost self-pay support group for women age 60+. We come together to share our stories and wisdom each week. As we get into this particular phase in life, many things come up that we might not have been prepared for, e.g., isolation, major life changes, physical limitations, grief, ageism, existential questions, strain in family relationships, financial stress, etc. Most importantly, this is a time for meaningful connection with other women who strive to live out the rest of their lives with passion, authenticity, self-compassion and resilience.

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming. Perhaps you've been struggling with depression, anxiety, strained relationships or loneliness. Are you grieving the loss of a loved one? Are your loved one's behaviors becoming highly stressful for you? Normal transitions may be relocating, retirement, new job, and more. Life is full of stressors! If any of these things ring true, you are not alone. I would like to help you find renewed strength, a sense of calm, and confidence in your ability to move toward a life in which you find meaning and purpose.
Everyone grieves differently, and there is no right way or one answer for how to cope when someone you love passes away. Grief is very personal and sometimes, it can even feel impossible to survive the loss. You have the right to grieve and mourn your loss in your own way and in your own time, but you do not have to do it alone. This will be a closed group offered for 8 consecutive weeks. The group may be offered via telehealth.

Life threatening experiences sometimes affect us long after the danger has passed. If you find yourself moving through the world in fear, avoiding situations that remind you, even remotely, of the past, EMDR can help. EMDR addresses the cycle of triggering and avoidance that can be so painful and disruptive. The typical course of EMDR is 1-10 sessions. It may sound unlikely that such powerful memories can soften and lose their hold in just a few sessions. But that is what you can expect from EMDR. It is why EMDR is the treatment of choice for PTSD.
In a supportive setting, we will have a chance to share our stories and learn to be intimate as men. Together we will create a sacred space to learn to honor self and others. This small on-going group offers an opportunity to develop effective ways to connect to and express emotions, increase intimacy with other men and therefore others, receive support in making changes, and increase empathy for others.

"The individual is like a garden to be tended, not a machine to be repaired". I practice Motivational Interviewing; this is a collaborative conversation to strengthen a person's own motivation for change. I hold a few principles that govern the work. First, I will focus on you being heard and believed, Second, be kind. Third, teach and demonstrate empathy and compassion and be helpful with your internal conflict... I practice being in the here and now with individual, couple and group work.
EMERGE is a counseling group for people who have lost their sense of self in their relationships with others. Not being authentic with others can lead to depression over not being who you wanted to be in the past or anxiety about who you will be in the future. By gaining a better understanding of who you really are you can become more confident in the decisions you make each day and the way you communicate who you are and what you think to others. Join a small group of serious people like yourself who want to EMERGE as yourself.
Is your life turning out the way you planned? Are your personal relationships succeeding? Are you finding the right career for you? Do people know the real you? Too often we lose track of how we exist each day. Depression over past mistakes or anxiety about what might happen in the future prevent us from being who we really want to be in the present. The goal of counseling is to help you develop a better relationship with your 'self' in order to improve your relationships with others. Check out my video on YouTube to learn more about my approach.
