Most often people come to therapy because they are experiencing some depression or anxiety related to their relationships, work, or sense of themselves. Despite this pain, making the decision to enter into therapy is often difficult. It takes great courage and a certain amount of hope. It is important to find a therapist with whom you think you will eventually be as open and honest as possible; someone who is non-judgmental, and who can both give and accept feedback. I will take the initial sessions to help us figure out if we can be good collaborators in this undertaking.

I am a licensed therapist who works with individuals and couples of all ages and various presenting concerns. I work with individuals with mental health challenges, addictive behavior, or life-transitional issues (e.g. beginning high school/college, launching into adulthood, managing relationships, grief/loss, etc.). I help couples get to a place of connection where each partner feels heard, understood, and loved by the other. No matter what circumstances led us to where we are today, I believe that we all have the potential to be happy and content.
This group integrates interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with a focus on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Each group will start with a 30-minute psychoeducation component (e.g., information about social anxiety, explaining how ERP works, practicing present-focused awareness, identifying unhelpful thoughts, challenging unhelpful thoughts, and clarifying values), which will be followed by 60-minutes of practicing exposure tasks related to social anxiety. This group requires a 6 week commitment, though we encourage 2 rounds of participation. There will be new openings in the group every 6 weeks.
As a licensed clinical psychologist, I specialize in evidence-based treatments for anxiety and mood disorders. I have a particular focus on supporting college students and young adults, and I have several years of experience working in university counseling centers, which has deepened my understanding of the unique challenges faced by this demographic. I also work with older adolescents (16+) and adults of all ages, and am also passionate about working with individuals struggling with body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs - skin picking, hair pulling, nail biting, etc.).
Do you have any idea what it feels like to ‘never be good enough’? Are you experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, or burnout? Are you hard on yourself? Do you tend to take care of others more than yourself? Do you wish to feel less alone? Do you wish for more time to care for yourself? If you answered YES to any of these questions, contact me for a complimentary consultation. I'm also running this group for parents and health professionals.
