We have strong backgrounds treating the following symptoms: Difficulty with focus on concentration, sadness, lack of energy, constant worry, impulsivity, intrusive thoughts, low self-esteem, family stress, mood regulation, trauma-related disorders, delusional conditions, ADHD, and more.
The field of therapy and mental health is poorly regulated, meaning there are many professionals practicing with little to no training and experience. As a result, many people receive services that don't address all of their mental health needs. At Guada Psych, all of our clinicians have strong training backgrounds and utilize a trauma-informed approach. We also want to know if our treatments are working, so we measure peoples' progress during therapy. This intentional and goal-focused approach to our work, combined with our compassionate and experienced staff, puts us ahead of any private practice out there.
You are not supposed to know how to handle complex situations with your kiddos like intense anxiety, OCD, or huge emotional outbursts. However, when your kid is struggling, a lot of times you are put in the front line and expected to know how to do the right thing. That is HARD and unfortunately, a reality for many. In this group, we prioritize opening up the conversation around a topic that can feel so isolating and vulnerable, while also providing realistic & tangible ways to make it better.
I specialize in working with clients aged 6-26 facing challenges like anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and depression.
In my clinical experience, I have seen one quote to be consistently true. That relationships are the agents of change. From forging strong, supportive connections with my clients to creating spaces of openness and vulnerability this quote has guided me in helping the clients I work with find healing. I believe that the best kind of therapy incorporates creativity and fun and shows you every step of the way that you are not alone!
The care provided by this group is centered around evaluation, screening and medication management for a variety of mental health condition.

At Hope Reins we use horses in counseling. No horse back riding is involved though! And you may wonder how this works. Since horses are very sensitive and don't lie, you will have a chance to really "see" what works. You will have a chance to try new solutions to old problems and get immediate feedback. Since horses respond to non verbal communication, this approach can help those who struggle with verbal communication. And for those for whom traditional approaches have failed there is still hope! There is much more to explain so call us if you are curious!

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
