Before becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker I worked as a Correctional Officer and got to witness first hand how untreated mental health and substance abuse challenges bled over into so many different areas of life. I believe that people have an inherent desire to change their lives but some are unsure of where to start. Sometimes being empowered to change is a matter of learning what you don't know.

The Group Traumatic Episodes Protocol (GTEP) is a therapeutic intervention designed to address trauma-related symptoms and promote healing in a group setting. This 90-minute group uses EMDR strategies to help lower your distress and strengthen your resiliency. The G-TEP model was designed to aid those who have experienced a recent traumatic event or have been struggling with upsetting emotions, memories, and sensations from a stressful incident, situation, or experience. Instead of talking about their traumatic events, participants address upsetting episodes internally and use a process of tapping to help desensitize the overall impact of the disturbances.

Life's unexpected twists and turns can leave us feeling lost, but having someone who offers support without judgment can make all the difference. Creating a safe haven where individuals can freely express their emotions is both an honor and a privilege. If you're facing challenges and feel stuck, know that you don't have to go through it alone. As a former Army soldier and an Air Force spouse, I understand the anxiety and uncertainty that often accompany life's "hurry up and wait" moments. I believe this shouldn't extend to mental health—we deserve proactive support.

CORE Therapy Intensives are concentrated opportunities for clients to tackle a meaningful, measurable amount of therapy in record time. During a therapy intensive at CORE, clients spend 6-8 hours a day with our team, usually for a sequential period of 5-14 days. CORE offers exclusive intensives (one individual or couple at a time) and small-group intensives (3-6 participants) for men, women and couples. Intensives aren't a quick fix. However, therapy intensives will motivate, accelerate and invigorate your quest toward inner health, with results that rarely materialize from traditional, weekly therapy.

"Lots of times people say, 'We want to get back to being the couple we once were.' But no, you really don't! Chances are, you don't want ANY part of that. More likely, you want to be something new—something better." As a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) specializing in trauma, betrayal, compulsive sexual behavior and intimacy avoidance, Sharon knows that humans heal best through BEING, DOING, and PLAYING—not through sitting, planning and thinking. Sharon's favorite workdays involve watching clients move from being "stuck" in their heads to feeling "free" in their hearts. "That's when the miracles happen," she insists.

Do you find yourself engaging in outdated beliefs, relationships, societal norms and expectations that just don't seem to resonate with you anymore? The Women’s Trauma Group is for women who have experienced trauma and related issues such as substance abuse and domestic violence, and are seeking a safer, healthier life. Sessions include both information and the opportunity to share. Group members will learn techniques to understand the relationships among thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Group therapy is effective because it reduces stigma and feeling of isolation; they know they are not alone, clients can learn from each other’s experiences, and mutual support is empowering to the individual.
