Using Cognitive Behavior Therapy, EMDR, and mindfulness We've helped over a thousand people overcome depression, anxiety, shame and relationship problems.
If you are feeling down, coping with an overwhelming life change, or seeking more out of life and relationships, we can help. Accepting you right where you are with compassion and mindful presence are the cornerstone of our practice. Creating space for you to be, just as you are, problems, guilt, shame, disappointment and all, can be very healing. Once you feel heard and accepted, you can start opening to the guidance of your emotions, identifying blocks to joy, healing and recovery. This creates the space for goal setting and planning.

, LCSW is the Owner and Director and has been specializing in treating anxiety disorders for the past 20 years.
The Anxiety Treatment Center is the first & only treatment program in California and the U.S. that offers Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient Treatment, a Hoarding Disorder Program, Phobia Track, and Equine Assisted Activity Program (EAA) specializing in OCD and anxiety disorders. This includes Generalized Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Trichotillomania, and Excoriation Disorder, to name a few.. This facility provides the frontline treatment protocols for these conditions which includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). This integrative approach is the only scientifically proven treatment modality shown to produce chemical changes in the brain leading to decreased anxiety and improved functioning. About Anxiety: Anxiety is the result of fear. When we are afraid, our body responds by producing physiological symptoms such as heart palpitations, sweating, trembling or shaking, shortness of breath, dizziness, and chest pain. These symptoms tend to produce a "fight or flight response" causing us to take action so twe can be "safe." Typically ones instinct is to go into a "flight" response, rather than stay and "fight" what is scaring us. Hence, we often times see individuals whose lives have become significantly limited due to avoidance of the situations that are producing the anxiety.
Feel like you just need a little help to keep you going? This group focuses on strength-based interventions to assist people under chronic stressors to remember their own strengths and to compassionately care for themselves. Admission is rolling on a trimester schedule and will include 1 individual goal setting session prior to joining the group. We take insurance and can accomodate sliding scale for cash pay. This group is 100% virtual.

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
