Leaving religion can be a daunting decision and process. You're likely worried about what your family and friends will say if you tell them that you no longer believe in the theologies and doctrines that were central to your religious experience. You're likely worried about losing your sense of belonging and community. The grief and loss of friendships, marriages, and family (amongst many things) are very real while leaving religion. Religious Trauma Syndrome (RTS), coined by Dr. Marlene Winell, has similarities to numerous mental health disorder symptoms including PTSD, anxiety, and depression.

I'm passionate about helping others find healing and wholeness. My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply, find healing from the past, and live a rich and meaningful life. I am a zero judgement therapist- there is nothing you can tell me that will result in judgement on my end, as I believe it is only in being radically accepted for who we are that we are then free to change. My goal is to give you a safe space to do this.

Our practice offers a warm retreat where your experience is honored and our expertise helps to integrate your experience into creating a life worth living. Through the principles of DBT, CBT, Spiritual Integration, and Mind-Body Connective work we believe emotional healing is possible. We understand that relationships form the context for reflection, learning and application and hope to connect you with a therapist who makes the connection work for you. With more than 20 years experience working with DBT and persons needing intensive integrative work recovering from past traumas, we offer opportunities for therapists to specialize in this work under close supervision. This allows us to offer sliding scales to our patients and to provide more options for matching with the therapist they need.

Often our clients have tried a variety of therapies before coming for an evaluation to better understand what's going on. Neuropsychologists have extensive training in brain-behavior relationships and methods for better understanding individual experiences. Dr. Hall works with a team that is also available to provide direct therapy and parent training.

NOW FORMING, for couples in committed, if not necessarily perfect relationships: This group offers a professionally-facilitated, but peer-group oriented "reality-check" opportunity to examine and take responsibility for your relational issues, at an affordable price. Based on M. Scott Peck's famous dictum, in "The Road Less Traveled," that "every genuinely loving relationship is one of mutual psycotherapy," this is "Mutual-Therapy" meets "Community-Building" meets "Positive Psychology." You will not be judged or diagnosed. It's a chance to learn, grow and experience authentic, emotionally-informed communication in a stimulating, but safe environment.

“Every genuinely loving relationship is one of mutual psychotherapy.” So wrote M. Scott Peck in "The Road Less Traveled." I knew Scotty, and he included our 10-yr. correspondence in his final papers. I now teach couples how to become their OWN mutual therapists. Most of us have scars from our childhood or past relationships that deter us from opening our hearts even to those we claim to love. Many couples thus enter into a tacit agreement not to rock the relational boat. But I see relational tension as a thrust for both personal authenticity AND intimacy. A blessing, not a curse, it is the very coin of the mutual-therapeutic realm.
