I specialize in navigating these life transitions, whether you are experiencing anxiety, grief, OCD, chronic illness, depression, or relationship issues.
Transitioning to adulthood can be a confusing time where life goes from black and white to being extremely grey. Adulthood can bring up questions you have never asked yourself, leaving people feeling confused and out of control about who they are.

Through working with my Pilates instructor, Daisy Sola Lespiers, we have developed a 6 session mat course that educates those who practice pilates on how to work through blocks and inefficiencies in the body by integrating the heart/mind. We are launching this course in Autumn 2024 and are looking for individuals who would like to join!

Self transformation comes from understanding how the body and the mind have been impacted by childhood trauma. The somatic modality I practice, Core Energetics, offers a unique opportunity to unwind childhood conditioning/trauma and discover who we truly are. Anxiety has become an ever-present emotion with the things that have been happening worldwide over the last 5 years. How do we navigate life when our anxiety is at levels where it is hard to access our rational brain? Also, our childhood trauma is often times echoing in the background, through the events that are happening in the present. Why do we tend to repeat patterns?

The summer months bring fun as well as anxiety around body image. This is especially important for teen girls who participate in summer camps, jobs and volunteer opportunities. This new therapy group is for teen girls (13 - 17 y/o) who feel they are highly anxious, introverted and struggle to be nice to themselves. Teen girls will be able to process the pressure they feel to look perfect as they develop into young women. They will also focus on how this pressure manifests in different areas of teen life like dating/friendships, school, and family life.

I have experience working with teen girls and young women of color who live with anxiety and perfectionism.
Most of my clients feel that anxiety has consumed their whole lives. They are physically & emotionally drained but still crave meaningful relationships. They also identify as perfectionistic, depressed, and lonely. They are highly creative, an overachiever or an over-procrastinator, and an emotional sponge. Since they feel so deeply, they tend to feel ashamed of their emotions and work towards being someone different.

We think what is most important is that you feel comfortable in your relationship with your provider, in being able to share your concerns and fears with him or her.
We are a group practice (of psychiatrists and therapists). We have availability within 1-2 weeks. Our reviews are on our website. Feel free to call or message us to request an ASAP appointment. You might be a bit hesitant about receiving treatment over the internet if you haven’t done it before, and that’s totally understandable. If we can provide you any reassurance, most people end up finding they enjoy virtual visits more than going to an office.

I know you are doing the best you can and still may be met with panic, messy transitions, anxious thoughts, insecurities, feelings of overwhelm, questions about their future, and relationship issues that may disrupt their daily lives.
I work with millennials who feel overwhelmed, overworked, alone, and anxious as they go through challenging transitions at work or may be going through emotions, stress and disconnection from themselves, family, friends, and intimate partners. I support my clients in identifying and attaining their full potential. In my work, I help my clients identify the issue, process what is going on, build on resources to slow down their mind & body, and transform relationships and routines to improve your daily life and how you feel within it. As your therapist, I aim for you to leave sessions feeling empowered, connected, and confident.

I proudly identify as an LGBTQ therapist who believes in a therapeutic relationship that is stepped in active-listening, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. In turn, this allows for clients to feel safe and secure when we engage in a therapeutic relationship. Therapy is about being yourself without the judgment of the world; and it is a discovery process that gives you the opportunity to visualize possibilities in life. My attention is drawn to connecting with clients, being collaborative and interactive, and learning how to help clients become unstuck in life.

I work with patients who struggle with issues ranging from depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, post-traumatic stress disorder, medical issues, grief/loss, as well as age/role changes.
The fundamental core of my practice is the belief that each individual has the capacity for wisdom, growth and change with respect to his/her own life. I trust that the potential that is necessary for change is within each person, but this capacity may not always be evident or accessible. As a clinician, I believe that one of the most important components of psychotherapy is having an atmosphere which is supportive, patient, validating and compassionate. I approach my patients with integrity and a commitment to help you create a higher quality of life that resonates with your true self.

Group therapy can be more effective than individual therapy especially when working on improving relationships in one's life. During group work in a safe, confidential and supportive environment you will further broaden your self-understanding through receiving multiple perspectives. You further benefit through both active participation and through observing others. You will never be forced to talk. You are in control of what and how much you share and are encouraged to do so at your own pace. This is an open group varied in size between 5-10 participants. Sessions occur weekly and last 60 minutes.

Anxiety Support Groups

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
