Susan Lanzoni Ph.D.

Susan Lanzoni, Ph.D., is a historian of psychology, psychiatry, and neuroscience. She is the author of Empathy: A History (New Haven, London: Yale University Press, 2018). She earned her Ph.D. in History of Science at Harvard University, and she also received a Masters in Theological Studies at Harvard Divinity School. She has previously taught at Yale University, Tufts University, and Harvard Extension School, and she currently teaches at the School of Continuing Education at Harvard University and at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and the Health Sciences. Her writing has been featured in the Washington Post, The Atlantic and American Scientist, in addition to numerous peer-reviewed journals. Susan has received a Fulbright Award, and two National Science Foundation Grants to pursue her research and writing. Susan lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
