Steve Alexander, Jr., M.A., Ed.M., ARM, LMHC received a Dual Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Before his graduate studies, Steve worked in the field of Risk Management at one of the largest Risk Management and Insurance Advisory firms in the world.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, he has worked extensively at multiple outpatient clinics, Manhattan Psychiatric Center, a community college, and in private practice. He has been known for working with complex and challenging populations. He co-founded a Clinical Think Tank in New York and Denver that conducts research on evidence-based interventions for treating gang-affiliated adolescents. He also assisted in developing a program to address the nuanced needs of young adults on the Autism Spectrum, known as LEADS Plus. Steve has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS) for young adults on the Autism Spectrum.

Steve is also the founder of authorityspeaking.com, where he works with individuals and organizations to help them enhance their presentation skills. Through his work with authorityspeaking.com he has authored two books—Speak: A Simple Guide to Public Speaking and Shawn’s Show and Tell Tale. Steve currently works with both individuals, and organizations, and has even been an invited presenter to the White House under the Obama administration. He has given many presentations specifically focusing on communication, mentoring, and mental health. His hobbies include reading, writing, and spending time with his niece and nephews.
