Sherry Benton, Ph.D., the founder and Chief Science Officer of TAO Connect, is also a professor emeritus and the former counseling center director at the University of Florida. She has over 25 years of clinical and research experience in counseling psychology and college student mental health. She has focused her career on reducing mental health disparities and improving access to evidence-based mental health treatment, and her experience in the college counseling world revealed a need for a more efficient and effective way to deliver mental health therapy. She is board certified in Counseling Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and is a Fellow in the American Psychological Association. She has also served as President Emeritus of the American Academy of Counseling Psychology and President of the Association of Counseling Center Training Agencies. A book she co-authored, “College Student Mental Health: Services and Strategies,” is published by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators and regarded as an important resource in the college counseling arena.
