Sandra J. Llera, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and an Associate Professor at Towson University. She received her Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University in 2011 and joined the psychology department at Towson University in 2012. Her research focuses on exploring factors underlying a range of anxiety and mood disorders, with an emphasis on understanding patterns of emotional dysregulation that lead to and maintain these symptoms. Dr. Llera’s research has been published in well-respected journals, and she presents regularly at national conferences. She is also raising her two wonderful daughters to be independent, critical thinkers.

Michelle G. Newman is a Professor of Psychology and Psychiatry, and the Director of the Laboratory for the Treatment of Anxiety and Depression at the Pennsylvania State University. She received her Ph.D. from Stony Brook University in 1992 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University in 1994. She has published more than 150 articles and book chapters on the nature and treatment of anxiety and worry. She is also the recipient of the Raymond Lombra Award for Distinction in the Social or Life Sciences, American Psychological Association (APA) Toy Caldwell-Colbert Award for Distinguished Educator in Clinical Psychology, APA Turner Award for distinguished contribution to clinical research, and the APA Distinguished Publication of Psychotherapy Research Award. She is a Fellow of American Psychological Association Divisions 29 and 12 and of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. In addition, she is a Beck Institute Scholar.
