Neil J. Lavender, Ph.D. wears many hats. He is the clinical director of LoveLife Family Counseling located at The Church of Grace and Peace in Toms River New Jersey, where couples, families, and individuals are given skills and training to bring their relationships to new levels. In the internship program there, he is also training a new generation of well-equipped, licensed psychotherapists who are Christian friendly. He has frequently been asked to serve as a court appointed expert in family relationships in the New Jersey court systems to help adjudicate family related matters.. He has consulted with businesses around the country regarding personnel problems since 2000 and is the co-author of Toxic Coworkers (2000), The One Way Relationship Workbook, and Impossible to Please (2012).

Additionally, Dr. Lavender is a full professor of psychology in the Department of Social Science at Ocean County College in Toms River, NJ. He has been tenured there since 1983 specializing in abnormal and child psychology and personality theory.

He received his Ph.D. from the Graduate Faculty in The New School for Social Research majoring in personality and social psychology. He has a master’s degree in psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University as well as a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He has appeared on numerous radio and television shows as well as national newspapers and magazines to discuss the topic of personality disorders.
