Michael G. Pipich, MS, LMFT, is a psychotherapist with more than 30 years of experience diagnosing and treating bipolar disorder. He is the author of Owning Bipolar: How Patients and Families Can Take Control of Bipolar Disorder (Citadel Press, Sept 2018). Pipich has taught graduate-level courses in diagnosis and psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, and substance abuse and addictions, and provides national professional trainings in bipolar diagnosis and treatment. He also frequently conducts community-based bipolar educational groups for patients and families. He has an extensive interest and knowledge in treating bipolar disorder from both individual and family therapy modalities. He has also testified in several legal cases as an expert witness.

Pipich was selected as a collaborating investigator by the American Psychiatric Association, performing clinical field trials for the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), and is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. He is also the founder of BipolarNetwork.com.

He holds a Master of Science in Clinical/Community Psychology from California State University, Fullerton, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles. He practices at the Colorado Center for Clinical Excellence in Denver.
