Isaac P. Tourgeman, Ph.D., M.S. ClinPharm, earned a Master of Science in Psychopharmacology in 2014 while completing his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Nova Southeastern University in 2015. Dr. Tourgeman then completed his clinical internship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital-Adult Neuropsychology Rotation. After completing his internship at the UM/Jackson Memorial Internship-Adult Neuropsychology Track, Dr. Tourgeman proceeded to attain a fellowship at the Design Neuroscience Center in South Florida. This outpatient, neuro-rehabilitation center features neurology, physical therapy, speech pathology, occupational therapy and neuropsychology. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Tourgeman was hired as a staff psychologist at the Design Neuroscience Center.

Dr. Tourgeman is also a full-time faculty member at Albizu University in Doral, Florida. There, he is co-coordinator of the neuropsychology track and Faculty Advisor for the Neuropsychology Club. Classes taught by Dr. Tourgeman include: Assessment of Intelligence, Projective Assessment, Advanced Neuropsychology, Functional Neuroanatomy and Neuropsychological Rehabilitation. Dr. Tourgeman is also an adjunct professor for the Master’s in Speech Pathology Program.

Clinically, Dr. Tourgeman utilizes a theoretical integrationist approach, which allows him to incorporate multiple treatment modalities in a manner that is applicable to the individual patient. This orientation stems from experience and training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Intervention, Reality Therapy and Systems Approach. Dr. Tourgeman also integrates a medical/biological model when conceptualizing patients and incorporates the ACRM guidelines for Neurorehabilitation.

Dr. Tourgeman has presented in multiple conferences including NAN, INS and APA. Dr. Tourgeman has also co-authored books, chapters and publications. Dr. Tourgeman’s research interests center around the study of neuropsychological aspects of acquired brain injuries, including concussions. Currently, Dr. Tourgeman is Primary Investigator for a study exploring the premorbid and co-morbid factors that influence neuropsychological status in patients diagnosed with acquired brain injuries. Dr. Tourgeman is also co-investigator for a multi-center study that features group cognitive rehabilitation with individuals diagnosed with MCI or dementia. In addition, Dr. Tourgeman is a certified clinical rater and sub-investigator for a multicenter pharmaceutical study.
