Larry Letich, LCSW-C, is an individual and couples therapist based in Maryland and the co-author with Helene Brenner of I Know I’m in There Somewhere: A Woman’s Guide to Finding Her Inner Voice (Gotham Books, 2003). He’s a certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist (EFT). He’s also been since 1995 a certified practitioner and trainer in Focusing, a gentle yet powerful mind-body self-awareness process that brings the cognitive and emotional brains together.

Larry has been interested in the psychology of emotions since his teens, having grown up as a short, unathletic, sensitive, and highly emotional boy with undiagnosed Inattentive-type ADHD. His passion is helping people understand their emotions, connect to their emotions in a healing and beneficial way, and use their emotions, even their most difficult ones, to move forward in their lives and build closer, more authentic, and more loving relationships. His other passion is helping adults with ADHD live fully and successfully, and rebuilding the loving bond in troubled relationships where one or both partners have ADHD.

Helene Brenner and Larry Letich have been married for 40 years and have “kitchen-tested” practically every experience and suggestion for building emotional connection that will appear in this blog. They’re currently writing a new book together on the topic of emotions and emotional connection, which will bring together their combined 50 years of knowledge and experience as therapists and their own personal experiences with the latest neuroscientific insights on emotion.
