About

Gabriel Young, Ph.D., brings a person-centered and integrative approach to therapy which encourages clients to recognize that achievement is not the same as happiness. He works with both children and adults on issues including anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma.

Dr. Young is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, holding a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and a Ph.D. in Human Development. His work in the field of psychotherapy has also included speaking, writing, and expert witness testimony. Additionally, he has been a professor of psychology and department administrator. After seven years at Santa Clara University, he took a position in 2019 as head of the psychology programs at the San Jose Branch Campus of Pacific Oaks College, which is a small but highly regarded educational institution founded in 1945 and based in Pasadena, California. He had the pleasure and honor to train many amazing therapists until the position ended due to the closure of the San Jose campus in 2022. Other organizations he's worked with include NASA, Stanford University School of Medicine, Salvation Army, Santa Clara County, many school districts, and a number of major Silicon Valley tech companies.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, he and his father Aaron moved to the San Francisco Bay Area after he graduated high school. He lives in San Jose with his wife Virginia and his daughter Jessica.
