Taylor Swift is one of the most popular accounts on Twitter. For this analysis, I grabbed her tweets and stripped out the retweets, some sponsored messages, and all the hashtags, @ mentions, and links. What was left was text (mostly) written by her and analyzable by our tools.

As always, remember these are guesses by artificial intelligence, not diagnoses by professionals. AI can be wrong and often has some degree of error in it. Furthermore, this is only analyzing information from Twitter, which doesn't necessarily paint a full picture of a person's life.

The Receptiviti psycholinguistic text analysis tool paints this general picture of Swift:

Persuasive

Has an intuitive sense of persuasion and is able to create rapport with others by sensing what it is they might want. Strives for success, appreciates loyalty and responds strongly to signs that others are interested.

Well-adjusted

Likely has good social skills and typically gets along well with others. Likely a relatively grounded person who values friendships, works hard, and has healthy life goals.

Negative emotion-prone

May have difficulty dealing with stressful situations.

The table here shows selected personality traits where Swift scored very high or very low. These are percentiles, so a score of 99 means she was in the top 1% for that value (scoring higher than 99% of people), while a score of 9 means she scored higher than only 9% of people.

Overall, Swift has very few low scores. Her tweets suggest she is not highly independent. She also is not at all cold or depressed.

She has quite a few high scores, though. She scores at the absolute top of the spectrum for her expressions of anxiousness, persuasiveness, and body focus. She scores almost as high for being artistic, friend focused, socially well adjusted, and leisure-oriented in her text.

Again, keep in mind that this analysis leverages what is in the tweets, so if Swift tweets a lot about being with friends, going to the gym, or doing photo shoots (which she does), these foci will influence her computed personality traits even if they are not as important to her in her offline life overall.

The Analyze Words analysis of the tone of Swift's tweets shows that, more than anything, she has an upbeat tone in her messages. Despite the high score from anxiety from Receptivity, she scores low on the "worried" attribute from Analyze Words.

Finally, my lab's tool to analyze coping style classifies Swift as someone with a good coping style. That would be expected from the fact that she scores very high in being well adjusted. Social skills and friendships are a critical part of dealing well with stress.

I don't know Taylor Swift, but from this analysis, she seems like she'd be a really good person to have as a friend.
