Everyone wants to be a good mother or father, but parenting is confusing. Everybody has an opinion on how to raise a child, and parents cannot escape their advice. But the vast number of books on parenting give conflicting recommendations. Do vaccinate, don’t vaccinate. Your friend says don’t give them sweets but your mother says sweets are fine. Should children be able to play freely in the dirt and climb trees or be protected and kept clean? How does a parent decide what to do?
