Michael have been in private practice since 2014 and is a chartered registered Clinical Psychologist with Rogerian Psychology Singapore. He is experienced and specializes in stress management, obsessive compulsion, depression, borderline personality issues, anxiety management, family and relationships concerns, LGBTQ, career counseling, addiction, intelligence and learning deficiency testing. Michael is a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society, and Registered Clinical Psychologist with Singapore Psychological Society. Michael is also a Singapore Registered Psychologist (SRP) Approved Supervisor.
My counselling style is person centered approach where there is a significant emphasis on empathy, and compassion. Coupled with blended approach of Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused approach. I take a dialectical stance in using "nudges" to help my clients move towards constructive behavioral change and adopting helpful habits.
With couples and marital counselling, my personal experience highlights the importance of an ethical counsellor that does not project their issues on clients. For couples, I typically work as a facilitator and a mediator to help improve and clarify communications. I apply Gottman's and Minuchin's approach to family and relationships.
