As a sex positive counselor, I believe that sexuality is a vital part of who you are and should be a normal part of conversation. I work with individuals, couples (both in non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships) and am passionate about working with members of the LGBTQIA plus population. Additionally, I work with those navigating sexual pain, purity culture recovery, infidelity, sexual dysfunction, and offer marriage and premarital counseling. I am a kink-affirming counselor and seek to create a refuge for all my clients! I am a member of the AASECT (American Association of Sex Educators, and Therapists.
Sex can be hard to talk about. And that is true whether you are from a conservative or broad-minded, open or closed background. It is my hope that everyone feels comfortable sharing and talking in the counseling space. My sessions are open to everyone from every walk of life.
I introduce sessions by suggesting that counseling should be an interactive and compassionate space to explore various life issues. It is not easy reaching out and I recognize the courage it takes to set up a counseling session. I currently only provide virtual sessions. At Refuge Counseling, therapists provide counseling services on a wide range of mental health-related services. Refuge Counseling is a sex-positive, LGBTQIA affirming, and a safe place to navigate any transition. We seek to be a haven for difficult conversations. Refuge counseling acknowledges and affirms the reality of systemic issues such as ableism, racism, and homophobia on mental well-being and attempts to be a bastion of advocacy for minority populations.
