I’m Ivone and I am a bilingual Certified EMDR therapist with 12 years of experience providing culturally sensitive and trauma-informed therapy to BIPOC clients struggling with low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, and childhood trauma. I utilize EMDR and incorporate additional clinical approaches to help you get to the root of your struggles. My clients are typically folks that appear to have it all together. But despite their achievements and strengths, can’t tune out the voice that says they are "not good enough". They put themselves last and are often their own worst critics. They are exhausted and ready to make changes.
I work from a trauma-informed, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive lens. My main approach is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a brain based therapy that helps people find relief from traumatic memories. I integrate elements of Person-Centered Therapy, Feminist Therapy, TF-CBT, attachment theory, parts work, and mindfulness in sessions.
With therapy, my clients have developed healthier relationships, felt more empowered to set boundaries, and made changes to live joyfully. I strive to create a safe and therapeutic space for all.
