When I work with you, I want to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you. Harsh criticism or judgment is rarely beneficial, especially in our world where there is no shortage of people telling you what you are doing wrong. I also want to make sure the space is safe and understanding, I want to get to know you as well as possible. This means understanding what brings you into therapy now, and getting to know how relationships, traumas, or experiences within society might influence their mental health.
Understanding these things is only the beginning. The work in therapy is done when we can meet on a regular basis and understand how these previous experiences might be driving some of your daily difficulties.
I have experience working with teens and adults of all ages with general anxiety, social anxiety, school and work difficulties, and depression. I am happy to work with people from all economic, racial, sexual, and gender backgrounds, and I always try to keep in mind that people with similar backgrounds can have vastly different experiences.
