When experiences are too much, too fast, too soon, or should never have happened, it often leaves behind pain that requires attention and nurturing. Sometimes we need someone to provide that for us before we feel ready to give it to ourselves. Therapy at Portal is co-created, meaning we consider and honor your individuality, your story, the wellbeing of your mind/body, and your goals for the future. Facilitating a safe enough space is prioritized, so that you can continue to experiment with new ways of being, loving, processing, and feeling. The goal is to integrate what works for you into the story you are telling with your life.
I have particular interest in working with folx with depression and anxiety, those leaving oppressive systems, LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, and those who have survived and/or inflicted trauma. I use ACT, experiential exercises, schema, and narrative therapies. I believe recovery can feel more whole when one is willing to consider the body as part of your system.
With our combined curiosity, creativity and compassion, you can learn what your system needs in order to do more than just survive. As we find ways to meet those needs, you may begin to experience a more present and whole-hearted state of being and feel empowered to go in a direction that matters to you.
