Kia ora! It can be hard to reach out for help but you’ve taken the first step just by having a look. I want you to feel comfortable opening up and being able to share what’s going on so try my best to create a non-judgmental, empathetic space where we can work on what you’re facing as a team. I can help you explore a range of challenges relating to depression, anxiety and phobias, anger issues, trauma, etc.. I have expertise working with young people, children and whānau as well as adults. I'm available for professional supervision. I am Māori (Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāi Te Rangi), Dutch, and NZ European.
I use a range of different therapies and tailor this to you and what works best for you (e.g., CBT, EMDR, DBT, ACT, Trauma-informed, attachment). I am very flexible in therapy, meaning that we often prioritise what's most pressing in your life in order for you to get the most out of sessions. I am ACC registered and work with WINZ clients.
I like to do a longer period at the start getting to know you and your history, both to build a relationship and to help build connections between your struggles now and their potential origin. I am big on helping clients generate self-compassion and building a really accepting and open space in therapy. I love working in the rainbow/LGBTQIA+ community.
