I offer a free first counselling session (60 min). I am open to helping anyone, however I have a particular interest in helping those who have been affected by traumatic experience such as bullying, earthquakes, child abuse, neglect etc. These experiences can have limiting effects on our lives, and cause us immense suffering on an ongoing basis. I want to recognize that pain, and can help those affected to move toward permanent healing, relief, and resolution.
My approach involves clarifying your therapeutic goals, understanding together about why things are the way they are, and then forming a plan about how we can move toward your goal and/or heal whatever wounds you are carrying that have been holding you back from living your best life. This may involve developing resources or healing distressing memories.
Having been through my own mental health struggles, I am realistic and hopeful about how much better things can be when we face the difficult things we have been avoiding in an effective, therapeutic way.
