Tēnā tātou katoa. Welcome. Change can be very difficult, whether it’s happening around us or within us. It’s even more difficult if we or someone we care for are struggling or suffering. Psychodynamic psychotherapy can provide time, space, and safety to understand what we need to heal and flourish. Understanding alone may not seem enough, and it often isn’t. But understanding offers a place to rest and recover, to see where we’ve come from and where we’re going. Understanding shared with another person can be a powerful and effective step towards wellbeing.
I currently work as a Health Improvement Practitioner (or Wellness Advisor) with Tāmaki Health. This role is located in Primary Care clinics – i.e. medical GP clinics – and aims to offer brief interventions to Whaiora seeking support with managing a wide range of physical and mental health concerns. My past experience includes working with severe addiction.
I have been curious about human nature for as long as I can remember. Our minds, thoughts, feelings, and souls are endlessly complex, often beautiful, at times terrifying.
