Tyler G Okimoto Ph.D.
Tyler G. Okimoto, Ph.D., is a professor and associate dean for the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Law at the University of Queensland. He studies collaboration and reconciliation in social, political, and organizational domains. He received his Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from New York University in 2005, and has previously worked at Flinders University in Australia (psychology) and Yale University (management).
Tyler's research aims to better facilitate collaboration and consensus between diverse points of view, examining consensus and collaboration as a conduit for social justice in organisations and society.
He is a former president of the International Society for Justice Research, and his published work has been featured in the New York Times, the Atlantic, Good Morning America, US National Public Radio, ABC Radio, SBS Insights, Netflix’s Explained, the Hidden Brain podcast, and several policy reports. He is also an award-winning educator, teaching both traditional and online/blended courses on leadership, human resources, conflict/negotiation, and decision-making at the undergraduate, MBA, and executive levels. He was a 2019 finalist for the Global edX Prize for exceptional contributions to online education.
