Paul L. Nunez, Ph.D., is Emeritus Professor of biomedical engineering at Tulane University and currently runs a small consulting firm that works on brain physics issues with the Cognitive Science Department of the University of California at Irvine. Nunez has written more than 100 journal articles on brain science and has authored five books: The New Science of Consciousness: Exploring the Complexity of Brain, Mind, and Self (2016), Brain, Mind, and the Structure of Reality (2010), Neocortical Dynamics and Human EEG Rhythms (1995), and Electric Fields of the Brain: The Neurophysics of EEG (1st edition 1982; 2nd edition 2006). Nunez obtained a Ph.D. in engineering physics and postdoctoral training in the neurosciences, both from the University of California at San Diego.
