Nirit Soffer-Dudek, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and senior lecturer at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, where she currently serves as head of the Clinical Psychology track. As a researcher, Dr. Soffer-Dudek is mainly interested in the relationships between stress and psychopathology on one hand, and individual differences in altered consciousness tendencies on the other hand, including unusual nocturnal dreaming, daydreaming, and dissociative experiences. She is the head of The Consciousness and Psychopathology Laboratory, and also serves as a scientific director of The International Consortium for Maladaptive Daydreaming Research (ICMDR), a scientific milieu of several research groups from around the world dedicated to advancing the science of Maladaptive Daydreaming.
