Kristi Tackett-Newburg, Ph.D., LIMHP, LPC is a psychotherapist, business consultant, speaker, and recognized expert on emotions and emotional intelligence. She is the Founder and CEO of Counseling Connections & Associates, a group mental health practice in Omaha, NE—where she has counseled individuals and couples for the past 17 years. Voted Omaha’s #1 Counseling Service four years in a row, Counseling Connections & Associates offers a wide range of treatment services including counseling & psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), addiction treatment and medication management services to individuals, couples, and families. Dr. Tackett-Newburg earned a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in 2003 and a Ph.D. in Business Psychology in 2018. Her dissertation research focused on the impact of leader emotional intelligence on Millennial subordinate job engagement and turnover. In 2017, she was inducted into the Edward A. Bouchet Graduate Honor Society at Yale University. The Bouchet Society recognizes outstanding scholarly achievement and promotes diversity and excellence in doctoral education and the professoriate. Dr. Tackett-Newburg’s mission is to arm our younger generation with science-backed tips, tools, and strategies to help build mental strength. She regularly writes about emotional health and well-being, mindset, and the science of self-improvement for Psych Central, Good Therapy, and more. In Q2 of 2020 she plans to launch Mentality Exchange, an online self-improvement marketplace.
