Jennifer Bleyer is a health and science writer and a former senior editor at Psychology Today. At PT from 2014-2018, she focused on the intersection of psychological and behavioral science with social issues, including features on how science may be harnessed to reduce youth violence, address global conflict, prevent sexual abuse, and intervene early in the development of serious mental illness. She also edited the magazine’s Two-Minute Memoir. Prior to PT, she was a reporter for The City section of The New York Times and a freelance contributor to publications including The Washington Post, The Atlantic, The Christian Science Monitor, Slate, Salon, Monocle, Tablet, Self, Real Simple, and Cosmopolitan. She has been an adjunct professor at the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute at New York University and a fellow of the National Press Foundation and the Association of Health Care Journalists. She lives in New York with her family.
