Benjamin van Rooij, Ph.D., and Adam Fine, Ph.D.

Benjamin van Rooij, Ph.D., is a professor in law and society and the director of research at the School of Law at the University of Amsterdam and a Global Professor of Law at the University of California, Irvine. He studies why people obey or break rules. Findings from his work have been featured in the New York Times, The LA Times, The Hill, NPR, and Huffington Post.

Adam Fine, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of criminology and criminal justice and of law and behavioral sciences at Arizona State University. His applied research with community groups and justice systems on reducing crime and empowering people appears in the top psychology, public policy, and criminal justice journals, including Law & Human Behavior; Psychology, Public Policy, & Law; Journal of Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychology; Development & Psychopathology; and Psychological Assessment.
