Free Screening for Eating Disorders

Informs on the 1998 National Eating Disorders Screening Program in the United States. Schedule for the event; Topics that can be learned in the program.

Winter may be America's unofficial dieting season but for many people, coping with eating disorders is a year-round struggle. If you're one of them, you may want to attend the National Eating Disorders Screening Program, to be held February 23 to 28 at more than 1,000 colleges, hospitals, and treatment centers nationwide. Participants can learn the facts about anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating; take a self-test; meet one-on-one with a health professional; and get a referral for further evaluation. In mid-January, local sites will be posted on the Web at http://www.nmisp.org, or call 1-800-969-6642 for more information.
