The way I work is guided by the values of curiosity, creativity, and compassion. My aim is to offer you a freeing, non-judgemental environment where you can really be yourself; a safe space where you are encouraged to explore, question and grow in your own time; where every experience, feeling and part of you is welcome, particularly those ones that have been out in the cold. At the beginning, the process can be like a ball of yarn, with many different threads tangled together. We will collaborate to unravel these threads, weaving them into something that makes more sense and is hopefully more manageable.
I am a humanistic-integrative therapist, educator, and group facilitator. I am also a gay man, visual thinker, and trainer in gender, sexual and relationship diversity. All these parts of me inform how I work with people, whatever their identity, underpinned by my passion for helping others challenge internalised oppression and outdated status quos.
Having an integrative approach means I adapt how I work to fit each client, but I specialise in Writing Therapy, so if you are interested in journaling or creative writing, I can help you give these a more central place in your self-discovery. Whether or not we use writing, your unique story is waiting to be told.

A past client has given me permission to offer this window into their experience of our work: 'Simon gave me a space that I felt safe in every week. He showed me the value of being heard, even during the appointments when words escaped me. In my time working with Simon I've learned how much I matter, how much my voice matters and this, to me, has been invaluable.'
