Having worked in Cuan Mhuire Galway and Let’s Get Talking Galway, I found that treating people during and after recovery for addiction most clients presented with having experienced some form of trauma. I specialise in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and how addiction can be a coping mechanism
I hold an honours degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy from PCI/Middlesex University and I am currently studying for a Masters in Addiction Counelling and Psychotherapy. I incorporate many concepts from different theoretical approaches, including person-centred, cognitive-behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing and solution-focused therapy.
