As a therapist, Suzanne works with heart and creativity, meeting the client where they are at. With acceptance and curiosity, Suzanne provides a safe, supportive and appropriately challenging space for her clients to discover who and how they are in the world. Centered around the ‘here and now’, gestalt psychotherapy can support the individual to identify and get to know the ‘roadblocks’ that they experience in life. Do you ever worry that you're not good enough in some way? Or maybe say yes to avoid confrontation? Maybe you are experiencing low mood or feeling anxious? Well if any of this sounds familiar, get in touch, because I work with people that are fed up of feeling this way and want to change their negative opinion of themselves. I see myself as a warm and open-minded person who understands that we all go through challenging periods in life when things feel overwhelming. I work with young people, individual adults and couples. At our initial consultation, I have two objectives: to assess whether we can work together as therapist and client, and also to assess what is the appropriate therapy to offer you. Therapy is work. I offer a carefully-bounded confidential space in which to speak of anxiety, depression, hopes and dreams. My principal mode of working is a talking therapy but where appropriate I may recommend coping strategies (e.g. for panic attacks) and psycho-education (e.g. books or podcasts). In return I expect you to attend weekly, speak freely, and pay promptly.

I am an experienced Chartered Counselling Psychologist who works with adults struggling with a range of issues, including feelings of worthlessness and self-hatred, relationship difficulties, depression and apathy, anxiety and avoidance. I also have a particular interest in helping people who have suffered abuse, trauma or systemic oppression to relieve themselves of self-blame and start to heal and feel strong and in control again. I fundamentally believe that people's intense distress and troubling symptoms are not a sign of deficiency or disorder, but a reasonable and understandable response to what they have been through.

Life can be challenging and can bring hardships, conflict and pain. Often people seek therapy at a moment of crisis where they want change in their lives. Psychotherapy offers the possibility for an individual to explore various aspects of their life and be listened to in a way that is rarely possible with family or friends. My experience includes working with psychiatric diagnoses, those affected by issues and symptoms of anxiety, stress, depression, bereavement, addiction, relationship issues, questions of gender and sexuality.

I speak English, German, Lithuanian & Russian. I specialize in being open minded! I encourage my clients to talk about everything. Intimacy, Sexuality, Trauma, Addiction. The Therapeutic space is your sanctuary to be yourself, whether you’re hurting, feeling lost and fragile or just are curious to learn more about yourself. The goal is not to change you entirely but to work on updating your current self to become your best self.

I have over 25 years of experience in Chinese medicine, and acupuncture treatment for overall well-being. I am a fully accredited psychotherapist, through 4 years of studying counselling and psychotherapy, which enhanced my empathetic understanding of my feelings and others. When Western medicine and philosophy meet Eastern, it allows Mind, Body and Spirit to emerge into ‘ONE’. I believe the change happens when we develop the awareness that we have the capacity “To know, To understand, To act differently”, and know “Imperfection is the Perfection” under a therapeutic relationship between us. Emotional Focused Therapy for Couples.

Female Counsellors
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
