If you are feeling stuck in work or relationships, have parenting concerns, are lonely, anxious or stressed, I can help you. Together we can come to understand how you have got to where you are and what we can do to help move you forward. This will differ for everyone and will be based upon a thorough assessment of the presenting difficulty. Often feeling heard and understanding a problem is the first step to improvement. We can then build a tailored intervention that will meet your needs and we will review this regularly as we progress.

Please note unfortunately I am not currently taking new referrals. I am an adult, child and adolescent Psychotherapist. I have worked in a number of sectors including school settings, residential care settings, and for charitable bodies. I am passionate about working therapeutically with families, children and teens living with life challenges such as anxiety, bereavement, selective mutism, parental separation, foster and residential care, ADHD, Autism, bereavement, homelessness, amongst others.

From my perspective, psychotherapy means healing. It is the opening, where individuals begin to experience a more full contact with themselves and the outside world. I help them understand their emotions that signpost their needs. I help them to discover their unfulfilled needs and, together, we look for obstacles and barriers that could prevent people from fully enjoying their lives. One step at a time, they become increasingly ready to lead their lives consciously. They begin to authentically live, rather than continue, their lives.

Richard is a Counselling Psychologist and a Chartered member of the Psychological Society of Ireland. I have a special interest in Peri-Natal Mental Health and am currently undertaking practice-based research in this field. This includes understanding issues arising for mothers and fathers from the time of conception up until the child is 5 years old.
