About

Travis Tae Oh, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University. Prior to joining Yeshiva, he received his Ph.D. in Marketing at Columbia University, where he completed his dissertation on the consumer psychology of fun.

His main research explores the psychology of fun (“What makes experiences ‘fun?’”) in relation to consumer experiences and branding, while he is also engaged in studying several related topics, such as creativity, happiness, and hedonic consumption.

With enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, he regularly offers expert opinion and advice for start-ups from their very early stages to late-round funding on general marketing strategy and survey research.

When there’s the opportunity, Travis loves to travel and study wine, reflecting his passion for hedonic consumption, even outside of academic research.
