The Convergence Special Interest Group

About

The SIG on Convergence in Psychotherapy of SEPI, the Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration.

Now is a time of rapid convergence between traditional views of psychotherapy, newer conceptualizations, metatheories, and more basic scientific investigations from disciplines such as neurophysiology and computational neurobiology. Excited by the possibility of clarifying the common infrastructure of all psychotherapies, a group of us formed a Special Interest Group (SIG) on Convergence within SEPI, the Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration.

The Executive Council of SEPI chartered the formation of the SIG and agreed to a Psychology Today blog for communication between group members and open to other interested parties. We believe that the blog format, with posts and encouragement of comments, provides the ideal place to share and refine our views.

We wish to clarify that the views expressed here do not represent the official views or positions of the Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration.
