Nicole O'Donnell Ph.D.

Nicole O'Donnell, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University specializing in media psychology and health promotion. Her research explores how people use various forms of mass media, like social media, television, and music, to learn about health and make related decisions. Her work often focuses on how technology affects young peoples' health and well being, especially in relation to mental health, sexual health decision making, and substance abuse prevention. O'Donnell frequently works with public health and government agencies to develop health promotion campaigns that are educational, entertaining, and inspiring. She is affiliated with the Murrow Center for Media and Health Promotion and the Media Mind Lab. In addition, she is currently a Page Legacy Scholar with the Arthur W. Page Center for Integrity in Public Communication and a Kopenhaver Fellow. O'Donnell teaches communication and prevention science classes at Washington State University.
