Mikkel Borch-Jacobsen, Ph.D. is a professor of French and comparative literature at the University of Washington. He is the author of many books on the theory and history of psychoanalysis and psychiatry, and co-author with Sonu Shamdasani of The Freud Files, An Inquiry into the History of Psychoanalysis (Cambridge University Press, 2012). He is also the author of Freud's Patients: A Book of Lives.
