Lidewij Niezink, Ph.D., is an independent scholar and practitioner focused on the development of empathy in all its aspects. She is a co-founder of Empathic Intervision, an author, and an Applied Psychology teacher with a Ph.D. from the University of Groningen in The Netherlands. She develops evidence-based interventions and education for diverse organizations and writes and speaks on empathy for scientific, professional, and lay publics. Katherine Train, Ph.D., is an independent scholar and practitioner. She researches, writes about, and educates on presence and empathy with a special interest in embodiment. As co-founder and co-director of Empathic Intervision, she develops learning materials and presents training for empathy in organizations. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Cape Town, Graduate School of Business, where she researched compassion capability in resource-limited organizations characterized by ethnic, socio-economic, and educational diversity.
