About

Ariadne Platero, LMSW, is a therapist, consultant, and coach with a clinical focus on families, couples, young adults and professional individuals. As a result of Ariadne’s work with families faced with challenges, she has experienced first-hand the transformative effects of a collaborative and supportive approach and the importance of focusing on cycles of interaction, self-awareness and interpersonal dynamics. In addition, due to Ariadne’s early careers in investment banking and in media, she has specific insight and understanding of high-pressure work environments, and the challenges and demands for excellence that come with them which informs her work with both families and individual professionals.

Her work is goal-oriented, collaborative and supportive and draws from multiple methodologies including psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral and relational techniques with transformative results. She focuses on helping clients develop insight, awareness, tools and strategies.

Ariadne earned her undergraduate degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Christ Church, Oxford; her MSW from Hunter College School of Social Work, New York; and graduated from the training program at the Ackerman Institute for the Family. She is on the Steering Committee of the Women’s Health Symposium; President and Trustee of The Train Foundation; and a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
