This can be due to a particular circumstance such as difficulties in our current relationships, work related stress, illness, bereavement, or dealing with painful memories from our childhood. Sometimes we have no idea what is making us feel the way we do. All we know is that life has become distressing, or even intolerable. It could be at these times a talking therapy may be a helpful option.

Choosing a therapist can be a stressful process, and it's difficult to decide which kind of therapy to try. Many people find it helpful to work with a therapist who has trained in more than one therapy, who can switch to a different therapy when needed, and who can tailor sessions according to your needs. You can have a phone consultation with me to discuss what you are looking for and ask questions. 16 years experience in supporting neurodivergent clients (with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia or other difficulties) led me to further training in autism, and specialised CBT and ACT for ADHD and emotional regulation problems.
We are a group of experienced mental health clinicians who are passionate about providing high quality, evidenced - based and effective care. I am a qualified relational psychotherapist and counsellor, offering both short- and long-term therapy for individuals. I know from my own experience how powerful the therapy space can be for processing painful thoughts and feelings, and exploring ways in which we feel stuck, in confidence and without judgment. I am practised at working with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and relationship issues. But whether you're struggling with something specific, or you can't put your finger on what's wrong, I can help you feel more equipped to deal with life's challenges, and more comfortable in your own skin.
For qualified counselling and psychotherapy practitioners of any modality. The clinical supervision group is an opportunity for qualified counselling and psychotherapy practitioners of any modality to share approaches, exchange theoretical influences, and understand psychotherapy and counselling through the different cultural and socio-political lenses that our histories, circumstances and countries of residency give us. We usually begin by sharing what we are noticing arising for each of us in our practices and/or the social and cultural arenas we inhabit, and then move into specific client material and/or topics relating to practice.

My therapeutic approach is relationally based, grounded in psychoanalytic and humanistic traditions, and informed by developmental psychology, neuroscience, and psychosomatic thinking. This broad theoretical base enables me to use what feels fitting from different perspectives and work with each client according to their need. I consider psychotherapy to be an artful process; arts theories and practices underpin my understanding of how new thinking arises - that is, how change is generated through the creative-relational engagement of client and practitioner.
Constellations provide a solution-focused journey for deep-seated personal, relationship, family, and work challenges. Ideal for issues resistant to change, including emotional struggles, trauma, feeling stuck, relational complexities, family rifts, and more. In workshops, a small group of participants engage in a profound process. The Issue-holder shares their concern with a facilitator, creating a "living map" of the issue with fellow participants' support. Hidden dynamics emerge, guiding resolution and untangling complexities. Participants discover interconnectedness across generations, fostering compassion and belonging. Empowered by transformative insights, individuals gain clarity to navigate life's challenges. Constellations offer healing and new perspectives.

Are you yearning for change in your life but finding yourself unsure of where to begin? My therapeutic approach is systemic and solution focused. Instead of treating the troubled parts of ourselves as problems to get rid of, I see them as aspects that want to be seen. By exploring the underlying, and often unseen, dynamics of an issue, new understandings and fresh insight can be revealed. I offer a safe, confidential, non-judgmental space to explore your concerns. My aim is to help you gain a deeper understanding of the root causes of your distress, empowering you to find solutions and move forward in your life.
Group therapy offers a safe, therapeutic place to speak about yourself, your family and other relationships. Conflicts and worries can be explored with others who are going through similar issues. Groups of up to 8 members meet once or twice a week in a safe and confidential space. Each session lasts 90 minutes. Before joining the group, you will meet several times with me. This type of therapy is especially recommended for those who are having problems in relationships with others, feel isolated, depressed or suffer from social anxiety.

We work in their first or second language - English, Russian or Bulgarian. And even if I don’t speak your native tongue, as someone who is multilingual, I understand the challenges and gifts that come with bilingualism and multilingualism.

Life can surprise and challenge us in many ways. Having a safe space and the support of a therapist can help you explore and 'make sense' of what's troubling you, build new perspectives and move forward in life in healthier ways.
An EDI-focused reflective practice group for psychologists who want to address gaps in their knowledge, and meet the HCPC’s 2023 Standards of Proficiency in Equality, Diversity & Inclusion. Sessions are useful for psychologists needing more time to discuss themes in their clinical work relating to LGBTQ+ clients, clients of different nationalities, or a different cultural background to their own, protected characteristics, socially-isolated groups, and intersectional experiences. Sessions are £40 per person. Are you struggling to feel happy in yourself, and feel like everything you try to make yourself feel better isn’t working? Perhaps things you do may be causing distance between your friends and family yet you don’t know how to stop. Your work life, food and exercise routines may feel out of control, or that they’re running your life. All this can leave you feeling isolated, alone and grasping for unattainable goals. On the outside, things may look OK but inside you feel empty, with no sense of who you are and who you want to be.
This group comes together to offer support to each other in exploring personal and professional concerns. The confidential setting enables a space where trust is developed so that you can become aware of how you experience others as well as how you are experienced by them. This increased awareness of relationship patterns brings about long lasting and creative changes that enables deeper and more meaningful relationships both inside – and consequently outside of the group. The group is relevant if you struggle with feeling isolated, insecure or lacking in confidence and wish to find different ways of connecting – both to yourself and those around you.

I offer long term individual and group analytic psychotherapy and shorter more focused work as well as supervision. As well as my private practice in NW3, I work in the Trauma Unit at the Tavistock Clinic. I have extensive experience working in the NHS in adult psychotherapy and with vulnerable mothers and babies. I have worked with people of different ages and backgrounds with wide-ranging issues since 1998.
Group analytic therapy has been described equally as 'like a book club without the books' and as 'CrossFit for the soul'! It is uniquely helpful for people who would like to be more confident, less anxious and more connected to others. This is a space to slow down, get to know yourself more and experience yourself as others see you. It is a challenging and nourishing space for personal growth. I am lucky to be working with clients from a wide range of backgrounds with all sorts of issues. I see people on a 1-1 and if indicated, in my analytic group; mostly helping people with inter-personal issues which are often at the root of their depression, anxiety, loneliness. Clients report life-changing improvements in close relationships, self-awareness, self-confidence and feelings of belonging and significance. These foundational shifts occur through conversation: making links between past and present, noticing patterns and getting to the root cause.

FAQs - About Group Therapy and Support Groups
How can I find a support group in Enfield?
Search for nearby support groups by inputting your city, postcode, or the name of the group into the search bar. From there, you can filter to find a group that suits your needs, whether you are looking for support for a teenager, a group that focuses on a specific issue, such as depression, or a particular program type, such as one geared toward developing social skills. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or postcode into the search bar.
How does group therapy work?
Therapy groups are led by one or more therapists and serve to help people process their experiences and learn from others who understand their challenges firsthand. They can be based on a specific issue, such as addiction, grief, physical illnesses, parenting, and caregiving. They can involve a specific type of program or therapy, such as a social skills group or CBT group. They can also be specific to a particular population or community, such as teens or LGBTQ.
Support groups, like Alcoholics Anonymous, also focus on a specific issue, but are typically led by members with lived experiences and are less structured than therapy groups. Most therapy groups will meet for a fixed length of time with a consistent group of members, while many support groups meet for an indefinite period of time with members coming and going.

Most therapy groups will meet for a fixed length of time with a consistent group of members, while many support groups meet for an indefinite period of time with members coming and going.
What are the benefits of group therapy?
Support groups help connect people with shared challenges or physical and mental health conditions. In a group setting, participants can receive support and feedback from peers and can acquire new skills, strategies and perspectives by listening to one another. Discussing your experience with someone who also has a cancer diagnosis, or whose son also struggles with addiction, for example, can help you feel less alone, reduce distress, find empathy and connection, and learn practical or medical information that has helped others. Group therapy can also be a more affordable option than individual therapy and just as effective.
Is group therapy as effective as individual therapy?
Support groups can be deeply valuable for both emotional support and/or treatment outcomes. It’s difficult to make a blanket statement on efficacy due to the many different types of support groups and conditions treated, but group therapy has been found to be just as effective as individual therapy in establishing long-term abstinence for conditions such as substance abuse, addiction and alcohol abuse.
How much does group therapy cost?
Group counselling is typically less expensive than individual counselling, with each session costing on average between £45 to £60. Meanwhile, individual therapy sessions can run anywhere from £60 to £150. It is possible to find low-cost group therapy options and many therapists offer group sessions free of charge.
Does insurance cover group therapy?
If you have private insurance, your plan may cover some if not all of your group therapy sessions. You should contact your insurance provider to determine if they provide coverage for group therapy sessions and to determine what, if any, requirements they might have in order for your sessions to be covered, such as a referral from your GP or medical specialist.
How long does group therapy last?
The length of a support group session is often one hour but can fall anywhere between 45 minutes and two hours. The amount of time that people remain in a support group varies based on their specific needs and goals and the type of therapy. Some individuals may seek a shorter-term group, such as a bereavement group, that may last between six and 20 weeks. Some may seek a longer-term group that lasts for a year or indefinitely.
What are the limitations of support groups?
Support groups have many benefits, but there are a few limitations as well. Support groups do not constitute formal therapeutic or medical treatment, and are not run by licensed mental health professionals, so some people may opt for group therapy or individual therapy instead. Additionally, support groups can depend on the other participants, so a disruptive individual has the potential to mar the group dynamic, and the anecdotal information shared may sometimes be unhelpful or inaccurate. Because it is a group setting, confidentiality can be more difficult to guard and participants receive less personalized attention than they would in an individual therapy session.
