I have been working in the NHS for more than 7 years and split my time between working in the NHS and Private Practice. I am experienced working with people with a wide range of mental health difficulties including those who have been admitted to hospital. I am experienced in the assessment and treatment planning with individuals to help guide interventions that are meaningful for the them. I draw on a range of approaches within my work (mainly that of Relational and Systemic psychotherapy) and very much value understanding and exploring peoples lived experiences in their own terms. My work is underpinned within a humanistic philosophy and I value working with the 'whole person'.
I am interested in exploring meaning in the context of peoples own lived experiences, their relationships and belief systems. I have no set agenda within therapy, I believe that you are the expert of your experiences and together we can explore, negotiate, formulate and develop strategies to implement meaningful changes that will be relevant to your life.
